====== Rest ====== Once per [[:Mechanic:General:Time:Scene]], or as it ends, the [[:Mechanic:General:Player|Players]] may choose to [[:Mechanic:General:Time:Scene:Rest|Rest]], as [[:Mechanic:General:Appropriate]]. Doing so has several restorative benefits to [[:Character|Characters]] who participate. A [[:Mechanic:General:Time:Scene:Rest|Rest]] is a break for a [[:Character]], most commonly taking a meal, treating wounds or taking time to relax and process recent events. A [[:Mechanic:General:Time:Scene:Rest|Rest]] can take many forms, as long as it's [[:Mechanic:General:Appropriate]] within the context of the current [[:Mechanic:General:Time:Scene]], for example a quick power nap in the back of a car, nodding off in a train, eating a synth-dog at a street cart or taking a drink of water at a stream. The benefits of a [[:Mechanic:General:Time:Scene:Rest|Rest]] are as follows: * Restore [[:Mechanic:Rating:Health]] equal to your [[:Character:Stat:Brawn]]. * Any [[:Mechanic:Rating:Health]] restored beyond your maximum instead reduces the [[:Ability:Ritual#Severity]] of your oldest [[:Mechanic:Conflict:Injury]]. * Restore your [[:Mechanic:Rating:Strain]] to full. * Reduce the [[:Ability:Ritual#Severity]] of your oldest [[:Mechanic:Conflict:Trauma]] by an amount equal to your [[:Character:Stat:Panache]]. * Lose [[:Mechanic:Conflict:Morale#Priority]] and reset [[:Mechanic:Conflict:Morale]] to [[:Mechanic:Conflict:Morale#Neutral]]. * You can spend unspent [[:Character:General:Rank:Experience|Exp]] to [[:Character:General:Rank:Ranking Up|Rank Up]]. **Example**: If Johnny Tutorial has a [[:Mechanic:General:Table:Injury Table#Concussion|Concussion]] [[:Mechanic:Conflict:Injury]], [[:Ability:Ritual#Severity]]: 30, and has 12 out of 16 [[:Mechanic:Rating:Health]] remaining. If he has 6 [[:Character:Stat:Brawn]], when he [[:Mechanic:General:Time:Scene:Rest|Rests]], he will restore 4 [[:Mechanic:Rating:Health]] and then reduce the [[:Ability:Ritual#Severity]] of his [[:Mechanic:General:Table:Injury Table#Concussion|Concussion]] by 2. ==== Changelog ==== Version 0.5c - June 2026 * Wording clarified * Reworked to no longer restore Mana * Can now be performed once per Scene, either at during or as it ends.
