====== Upkeep ======
[[:Mechanic:General:Upkeep|Upkeep]] represents the ongoing costs of keeping your [[:Item:Equipment]], [[:Cyberware]], [[:Vehicle|Vehicles]], ammunition and other purchased goods and services operational. Fuel must be bought, licences renewed, software updated, ammunition replaced and moving parts maintained. Nothing lasts forever, and in the [Federation], somebody always sends the bill.\\

At the start of each [[:Mechanic:General:Time:Cycle]], pay the [[:Mechanic:General:Upkeep|Upkeep]] for any [[:Item|Items]], [[:Cyberware]], [[:Vehicle:Component|Components]], [[:Vehicle|Vehicles]], [[:Ability|Abilities]] or other goods and services you wish to use during the upcoming [[:Mechanic:General:Time:Cycle]].

Paying [[:Mechanic:General:Upkeep|Upkeep]] is optional. However, until its [[:Mechanic:General:Upkeep|Upkeep]] is paid, an [[:Item]], [[:Cyberware]], [[:Vehicle:Component|Components]], [[:Vehicle|Vehicles]], [[:Ability|Abilities]] or other goods and service provides no rules or benefits. [[:Mechanic:General:Upkeep|Upkeep]] may be paid at any time to restore its functionality, though repeatedly neglecting maintenance may have additional consequences, as [[:Mechanic:General:Appropriate]].
