Unit

A Unit is both a mechanical and diegetic term. It is the Federation standard unit of measurement. There are many different types of Unit, such as distance Units, heat Units, sound Units, pressure Units and so on. They colloquially get refereed to as Units, until a distinction is needed, however the most common is distance Units.

Distance Units are the fundamental method of measuring distance and volume in Meat Space, mechanics such as [Range] and Movement utilise them to mechanically seperate Targets in a meaningful measure of distance. A Units is roughly the length of one elvenoids arm span.

Please Note: When translating Units in to real world measurements, we recommend using a 1:1 conversion of Units to centimetres. This allows for ease of use with tape measures and rulers. One can use gridded boards or paper, but we find it easier to use measures instead.

It is possible to use inches and other imperial units, this can make play boards quite large and cumbersome to use, as [Ranges] of 36 and 48 are not uncommon, and when that is 3-4 feet as opposed to half a meter (or roughly one and a half feet), your table needs to be pretty big.
