====== Hardpoint Tax ====== The [[:Game Mechanics:Definitions:Hardpoint Tax#Hardpoint Tax|Hardpoint Tax]] is the amount of [[:Game_Mechanics:Definitions:Hardpoints]] required to [Install] a [Mod], [[:Cyberware]], or [Component]. To [Install] the [Mod], [Cyberware] or [Component], you must spend the amount of [Hardpoints] listed under the [[:Game Mechanics:Definitions:Hardpoint Tax#Hardpoint Tax|Hardpoint Tax]] from the [[:Items|Item]], [[:Character]], or [Vehicle's] [[:Game_Mechanics:Definitions:Hardpoints]]. Should a [Mod], [[:Cyberware]], or [Component] be removed, any [[:Game_Mechanics:Definitions:Hardpoints]] spent in this manner are refunded. \\ \\ If the [[:Game Mechanics:Definitions:Hardpoint Tax#Hardpoint Tax|Hardpoint Tax]] of a [Mod], [[:Cyberware]], or [Component] is greater than the current [[:Game_Mechanics:Definitions:Hardpoints]] of the [[:Items|Item]], [[:Character]], or [Vehicle] you wish to [Install] it in, then you can not [Install] it.\\ \\ **Example**: Shelby's [[:Items:Equipment:Weapons:Light Revolver]] has 3 [[:Game_Mechanics:Definitions:Hardpoints]]. 2 are already being taxed by a previously [Installed] [[:Items:Equipment:Equipment Upgrades:A.P. Rounds]] [Mod]. If they were to try to [Install] an [[:Items:Equipment:Equipment Upgrades:Underslung 'Nade Launcher]] [Mod], they would be unable to do so as it requires 2 [[:Game_Mechanics:Definitions:Hardpoints]] and there is only have 1 remaining. Therefore Shelby would have to find a [Mod] that only has a [[:Game Mechanics:Definitions:Hardpoint Tax#Hardpoint Tax|Hardpoint Tax]] of 1 or less to further enhance their [[:Items:Equipment:Weapons:Light Revolver]].
