Test

Test is a mechanical term. It refers to anytime you would generate a Dice Pool that is not a Check, Attack or Save.

  • Swagger - Swagger Tests are used to determine who in an Encounter presents as the bigger, tougher threat. Swagger Tests are almost exclusively used when individual or groups of [Sapients] face off in agressive [Situations].
  • [Presence] - [Presence] Tests are used to determine who in an Encounter presents as the bigger, tougher threat. [Presence] Tests are almost exclusively used when individual or groups of [Sapients] face off against [Beasts], [Spirits] or other non-[Sapients].
  • [Initiative] - [Initiative] Tests are used to determine when a prepared Target can act in a Turn Order.
  • Injury - Injury Tests are used to determine how a Character suffers temporary and lasting physical damage during a sustained battle.
  • Panic - Panic Tests are used to determine how a Character suffers temporary and lasting psychological damage during a sustained confrontation.
  • [Malfunction] - [Malfunction] Tests are used to determine how a [Vehicle] suffers temporary and lasting structural damage during a sustained battle.
  • Miscast - Miscast Tests are used to determine the outcomes of magical mishaps such as failed [Invocations].
  • [Determination] - [Determination] Tests are the most varied of tests and include determining Damage Totals, Ability outcomes and many others.

Swagger is a type of Test that can be generated. Swagger Tests are used to determine who in an Encounter presents as the bigger, tougher threat. Swagger is almost exclusively used when individual or groups of [Sapients] face off in agressive [Situations] flexing on each other with expensive suits, deadly looking weapons and overpowering natural charisma.

To generate a Swagger Test you must assemble a Dice Pool consisting of a D20, any Appropriate Bonus Dice, your Swagger Rating and any other Appropriate Static Modifiers.
