Miscast or Miscasting

A Miscast occurs when:
- Failing an Invocation by rolling a Natural 1 on one of their Checks.
- Not having the required mana to cast an Invocation when it resolves.
- Using Wild Magic and failing as specified by the ability or the GM.
Miscasting causes the failure of the Invocation or Action being attempted and additionally causes the player to roll on the Miscast Table
| Result | Miscast |
|---|---|
| 1 | Feedback: Lose all remaining Mana then take True Damage equal to Mana lost. |
| 2-5 | Unstable Flow: Suffer D6 Mana Damage then take True Damage equal to the Mana lost. |
| 6-10 | Temporarily Severed: Unable to spend Mana until the start of your next turn. |
| 11-15 | Astral Turbulence: Take D4 Strain damage. |
| 16-19 | Careful Cancellation: Restore 1 Mana. |
| 20 | Uncontrolled Surge: Restore D4 mana, take D6 Strain Damage. |
